NEW: Starting June 2025 – Skate-N-Shoot Camps now also in Arosa!

Promotion 5.11.2024 1 skate and shoot

After three years of great success in Zuchwil, the first Skate-N-Shoot Camps are now taking place in Arosa. A perfect complement to our Power Skating Camps in June, the Skate-N-Shoot Camps offer intensive training in power skating, stickhandling, and shooting techniques.

Our highly motivated top professional coaches work with ice hockey associations in both Switzerland and Germany. Their goal is to introduce young and advanced players to the world of ice hockey in a professional manner.

The Skate-N-Shoot Camps combine power skating with stickhandling and shooting techniques. The program includes four hours of ice time daily: two hours of power skating and two hours of stickhandling and shooting practice. In addition, the players go through the CHL/NHL test, which provides a unique benchmark analysis worldwide. 27 of our tested players have been drafted into the NHL, including Lucas Raymond, superstar of the Detroit Red Wings, who recently signed a $65 million contract.

Our program enhances players’ skating and technical skills, developing fast and dangerous goal scorers. Even small improvements can have a big impact on the game.

Strictly Limited to 24 Players Only per Camp

The 3rd Skate-N-Shoot Camps will take place from July 20 to 23 and from August 2 to 5, 2024. The first-class infrastructure for hockey camps in Zuchwil is utilized by many Swiss hockey clubs and junior national teams. Our highly motivated top professional trainers work for both ice hockey associations in Switzerland and Germany. Their goal is to professionally introduce the youngest and somewhat advanced players to the world of ice hockey.

The Skate-N-Shoot Camps combine the Power Skating Camp with training in stickhandling and shooting techniques. In these intensive camps, fundamental elements of modern ice hockey are taught, including skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing. The program consists of four hours on the ice daily, with two hours dedicated to Power Skating and two hours to stickhandling, stick techniques, and shooting training.

Players are developed into outstanding athletes, and all undergo the CHL/NHL test, enabling a globally unique benchmark analysis. Of the players tested by us in Europe, 27 were drafted into the NHL, including four first-round picks. One of them is Lucas Raymond, the superstar from the Detroit Red Wings, whom we tested at the age of 18 at Frölunda Göteborg in Sweden, recognizing his immense talent immediately.

Our Skate-N-Shoot training program improves existing player skills to enhance skating and technical abilities and develop fast, dangerous goal scorers. Even NHL stars have significant potential for improvement in skating, and minor enhancements can have a substantial impact on the game.

Participation in a Power Skating Camp is evidence of continuous work on skating and technical skills. Our camps focus not only on skating but also on scoring goals. Therefore, we integrate stickhandling and shooting training into our newly created Skate and Shoot Camps, which are a must for players aged 8 and above looking to significantly improve their game.

All participants undergo the standardized on-ice test following the CHL/NHL method. Our globally unique benchmark test analysis not only reveals strengths and weaknesses but also provides a comparison with peers and showcases the players’ talent.

Our benchmark includes test results from NHL Draft #1 picks like Nathan MacKinnon, Aaron Ekblad, and Connor McDavid, as well as other NHL stars.

Private Lessons: Maximize Development Through Individualized Coaching

Private lessons can have a significant impact on a player’s development. They provide the opportunity to focus specifically on areas where the player needs the most support. In one-on-one sessions, a wide range of hockey skills can be covered. The close interaction fosters a trusting relationship between player and coach that goes beyond the typical team training dynamic.

In our exclusive two-day camps with Herbi, we not only focus on precise B.E.S.A. skating techniques but also teach shooting techniques used by NHL stars. Players leave our camps with a clear understanding of the skills they have developed.

The camps on October 8-9 and October 14-15 are almost fully booked, but we still offer spots on the waiting list. For the camp on October 17-18, we have 2 spots available for players born between 2010 and 2013.

THE TOP COACHING TEAM

Ernst Schlotter, Founder of SISM Hockey

Ernst Schlotter, the founder of SISM Hockey, has been offering training camps for professional foreign ice hockey teams in Switzerland since 1995. SISM Hockey has conducted over 250 training camps and organized more than 750 exhibition games against NLA and NLB teams in Switzerland.

In 2011, Ernst met Besa Tsintsadze, former skating coach for Stanley Cup winners Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, through mutual friends at Dinamo Minsk (KHL). The idea of conducting a Power Skating Camp in Switzerland quickly emerged and proved to be a great success. The camp received certification from the SIHF in 2016 and grew to become the largest Power Skating Camp in Europe. Herbert Schädler has been part of the camp since its inception and is one of the founding coaches.

Since 2015, Ernst Schlotter and his company Sport-Tests (Switzerland) have been offering On-Ice Tests. Over 4,000 players, including the U16 national team of Russia, have been tested. SISM Hockey has also tested players from the KHL team Barys Astana, as well as players from the Kazakh national team and its twelve junior teams. All junior teams of Frölunda Göteborg, including the U16 and U18 Swedish championship teams, have been tested, with many Swedish U-national players among them. SISM has tested 27 European players selected in the NHL Draft, including four first-round picks, such as Detroit Red Wings superstar Lucas Raymond.

Due to the significant success of the BESA Camp in Arosa, the idea of expanding to a Power Skating Camp with stickhandling and shooting training emerged in 2020. Recently, Ernst successfully engaged Thomas Schädler, an outstanding shooting coach with the highest coaching diploma in Germany, who has coached all German junior national teams since 2005, including the women’s ice hockey national team. The first Skate and Shoot Camp took place in July 2022 and was a total success.

SISM Hockey’s most notable clients include teams such as SKA St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, Salavat Yulaev UFA, Lokomotive Yaroslavl, Avangard Omsk, Vityaz Podolsk, Sparta Prague, HC Litvinov, Vitkovice, Liberec, Karlovy Vary, Budjovice, Slovan Bratislava, HKM Zwolen, Banska Bystrica, HC Nitra, HK Poprad, IFK Helsinki, HPK Hämeenlinna, ÄSSÄT Pori, Tappara Tampere, Ilves Tampere, Adler Mannheim, Eisbären Berlin, Düsseldorf EG, Kölner Haie, Nürnberg Ice Tigers, Frankfurt Lions, Lulea Hockey, Södertälje, MoDo, Örebro Hockey, Rögle BK, HK Karlskrona, Barys Astana, Dynamo Minsk, Red Bull Salzburg, and Orli Znojmo.
